To survive winter conditions, they build little ‘apartments’ in the ground, in crevices, and in the stems of dead plants. When we ‘clean up’ around our landscapes in the fall we remove the crucial habitat and resources our solitary pollinators rely on to survive winter. Description

The Pollinator Pod has been designed to attract and protect solitary pollinators. We use a specific color pallet that mimics the most enticing flowers for our pollinator friends. Each pod is filled with compostable straws ranging in 6-10mm widths to ensure colony success for all pollinator sizes. The straws provide a safe home for solitary bees of the most common sizes to hatch. Swapping out the used straw once a colony emerges helps keep the rest safe from rot and infections. The end cap provides winter protection and a summer watering spot for thirsty flyers.
