Meet the Pollinator Pod.
It’s an apartment for solitary pollinators.
There are over 20,000 species of bees and more than 90% of them lead solitary lives. To survive winter conditions they build little ‘apartments’ in the ground, in crevices, and in the stems of dead plants. When we ‘clean up’ around our landscapes in the fall we remove the crucial habitat and resources our solitary pollinators rely on to survive winter.
Pollinator Pods are designed for urban and suburban gardens to increase native pollinator activity.
A fresh alternative to a bee hotel.
The pod provides resources and built in protection.
During warm months the cap mounts above to hold a water supply for pollinators. When placed over the hood in winter, the cap becomes a protective and insulating lid.
Healthy habitats support healthy ecoystems.
Brood tubes are eco-friendly paper straws. Natural, compostable, and available- straws can easily be replaced to maintain a disease-free habitat.
READER: If you notice that the water reservoir is empty during warm months please consider refilling with your water bottle. Pure H2O only to the brim of the purple P2P logo. Thank you!
